Thank you 2011 | Marysville, CA Photographer

I can't even begin to find the words to describe how utterly amazing the past year has been. It feels both like I've been doing this for a long time, but also, at the same time, it isn't too distant of a memory recalling where I was last year. This time a year ago, I was simply another amateur photographer, had basic understanding of words like aperture, shutter speed and just beginning to have a feel for Manual mode. I would stare at my medical billing degree, wondering when would be the best time to go back to work.

This past year has been full of challenges, full of self-doubt, perseverance and accomplishments. I owe it all to every single face featured on this gigantic blog entry. I thank all my friends and family who were willing participants, not just for 2011, but also for years past. I appreciate all the patience and support you all have given me as I deal with the learning curve that this profession I chose, not just with technicalities of equipment, but also with me as an artist.

I thank my husband and my son for putting up with me during late work nights. For all those times I squeezed in an edit or two here. I appreciate all the undying support and helping me succeed through it all.

I thank all the families whom I have met because they picked me to be the person to help encapsulate a snippet of their life. I can't thank you all enough for taking your chance with a new photographer. I hope that I was able to deliver, and thank you for growing with me.

I started this journey to be able to photograph food. Sometimes, I sneaked in a photograph or two of my son which how I was able to hone what I do now.  Food photography would have to take a back seat for now though. I have learned this past year that this job, it has helped shaped me and helped me mature in ways I could have not imagine going through in any other way. I love watching every baby grow, even if it's just seeing them 3 months or a month after their newborn shoot. I cherish the fact that I'm entrusted to capture two beings joining each other to become man and wife. My heart warms up when I see Christmas cards with pictures I've taken. All of these memories, you all have let me be a part of it.

It was very hard for me to narrow down this year. I had 117 photos to chose from in the beginning. I narrowed it down to a few collages, and those of you that have worked with me know that I have trouble narrowing things down. I sure hope I didn't forget anyone, and if I did, forgive me. I put my heart and soul to each and every image I've placed in your galleries and I really appreciate all and everything the families that have helped honed what has become an amazing maiden voyage for my business. I'm ending 2011 in an extremely high-note and definitely squashing every doubt I had when I ventured on with this in January of 2011.

I hope to see you all in 2012. It's been a true blessing. I still have a lot to learn, a lot of growing to do, but it's a challenge I'm willing to take-on. Have a happy new year, everyone. Here's to hoping for an even bigger 2012!

Newborn photographer | Marysville, CA Photographer

I had the honor of photographing a good friend's baby last week. She booked her session months ago and we've been so excited with doing her shoot. Little baby S is so gorgeous just like her mommy and her whole family is just so in-love with her. Who wouldn't be with such a sweet little one!
